Never Graduated High School? It's Not Too Late!
We are standing on the threshold of 2020 and it's time to make some resolutions for the New Year! A great resolution would be to further your education! If you did not have the opportunity to complete high school, it is never too late! In order to take the high school equivalency exam, the test-taker must meet the following requirements:
- Have a government issued photo ID (national or foreign), DL, military ID, passport or matricula consular (school IDs are not accepted) Proof of residency in Texas (driver's license, utility bill, bank statement) Be 18 years of age Not enrolled in an accredited high school Not be a graduate of an accredited high school
The Texas State Board of Education contracts with three separate companies to provide high school equivalency assessments and there are now three testing options in Texas: the GED test, the HiSET exam and the TASC test. Upon completion of a single provider's exam, the test taker will be issued a State of Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency. The cost for the exam (all subjects) is $135.
